- The result of the discussion was: keep. – Fayenatic London 10:46, 19 October 2022 (UTC)
- Propose renaming Category:HNK Orijent 1919 to Category:HNK Orijent
- Nominator's rationale: Procedural nomination. Late last week, an editor moved the head article about this team from HNK Orijent 1919 to HNK Orijent on the grounds that the team has apparently changed its name, but then proceded to also bork its categorization by changing the eponymous category declaration from Category:HNK Orijent 1919 to Category:HNK Orijent without actually moving the actual category. So I've obviously had to put the article back where it was, since articles cannot be left sitting in nonexistent categories, but am listing the category for renaming as the OP should have done in the first place.
As I'm not an expert in Croatian football, I'm willing to withdraw this if somebody with more knowledge on the subject can demonstrate that the page renaming was wrong -- but if it's correct, then the OP should have followed the proper process rather than trying to file the article in a nonexistent category. - Oppose - the page move was unilateral and undiscussed, and no sources were presented to support it - the edit summary was simply "HNK Orijent 1919 has changed its name to HNK Orijent". Not good enough. I have reverted the page move, and WP:RM should be used. If/when there is consensus to move the article, then the categories can be moved using WP:CFDS. - I have sent an e-mail to a club address, so we will see what the heck is all about. ౪ Santa ౪99° 19:44, 15 October 2022 (UTC)
- @GiantSnowman, I have received an e-mail from Orijent, and they say that the new name is really HNK Orijent. I can capture my screen with an e-mail heading, or something? ౪ Santa ౪99° 00:21, 17 October 2022 (UTC)
- Are there any reliable sources to show the name change, independent of the club? GiantSnowman 17:20, 17 October 2022 (UTC)
- I am not especially interested in this issue, so I didn't look around for independent sources - I wanted to see what their website says, and as it was easy to post the question under Contact, I filled the form and they were really expeditive and politely confirmed change. But if club say it is changed, I presume sport media at least in Croatia or Dalmatia knows about it too, so probably someone reported on it. ౪ Santa ౪99° 21:04, 17 October 2022 (UTC)
- Here's one. ౪ Santa ౪99° 21:19, 17 October 2022 (UTC)
- And another - it's really small club (HNL2, a second level in Cro champ.) and name appeared to be changed in September, so few reports could be found at this point. ౪ Santa ౪99° 21:48, 17 October 2022 (UTC)
- Are there any reliable sources to show the name change, independent of the club? GiantSnowman 17:20, 17 October 2022 (UTC)
Oppose, their website still shows 1919. Marcocapelle (talk) 06:00, 17 October 2022 (UTC)- They said that the emblem will retain 1919, and the website header, but all the new reports on the website now carry new name. ౪ Santa ౪99° 21:55, 17 October 2022 (UTC)
- Oppose article has been moved back. First, get a consensus from a WP:RM to move the article, and then the category can be moved if the article has been moved. Joseph2302 (talk) 12:30, 17 October 2022 (UTC)
- Procedural close awaiting the outcome of an RM. After that, the category can be speedied. Marcocapelle (talk) 05:11, 18 October 2022 (UTC)

- The result of the discussion was: Merge Timrollpickering (talk) 11:49, 19 October 2022 (UTC)
- Nominator's rationale: Contains only one page, for Pore Mosulishvili, who was a Soviet soldier of Georgian origin. The page is in other Georgian categories (but there is none for Georgian suicides). If this is merged then it saves choosing a longer name, as we generally use "from Georgia (country)" to avoid ambiguity. – Fayenatic London 20:38, 11 October 2022 (UTC)

- Propose renaming Category:Oculus Quest to Category:Meta Quest
- Propose renaming Category:Oculus Quest games to Category:Meta Quest games
- Nominator's rationale: Per WP:NAMECHANGE on Meta Quest 2 and unveiling of Meta Quest Pro today; the "Oculus" name has been deprecated in relation to this product line, and there are now more entries in it presently sold under the "Meta" brand than "Oculus". - The result of the discussion was: keep. – Fayenatic London 10:49, 19 October 2022 (UTC)
- Propose merging Category:Contemporary philosophers to Category:Contemporary philosophy
- Nominator's rationale: According to the anchor article Contemporary philosophy is the present period in the history of Western philosophy beginning at the early 20th century - so all the biographies should be in Category:20th-century philosophers and Category:21st-century philosophers and it shouldnt contain Category:Contemporary Chinese philosophers or Category:Contemporary Indian philosophers as it did. Rathfelder (talk) 14:27, 11 October 2022 (UTC)
- Query - how does the proposed merge, of a people category into a topic category, address the problem perceived in the nom? And will not Category:20th-century philosophers include eg Chinese philosophers? I note also that Category:Contemporary philosophy includes Category:Contemporary Chinese philosophy. Renaming the ambiguous article Contemporary philosophy (eg there is Contemporary Islamic philosophy) to include 'Western' would be a better plan. Oculi (talk) 15:35, 11 October 2022 (UTC)
- Or we could just delete it. I had assumed that "contemporary philosopher" meant something more specific than just the date. I cant see that it adds anything to Category:20th-century philosophers and Category:21st-century philosophers. Apart from any other consideration there has been quite a lot of change in the world of philosophy over the last 122 years. But philosophers are divided by period: Category:Philosophers by period I also wonder how Category:Contemporary Chinese philosophy and the like can be excluded. Who says so? Rathfelder (talk) 15:53, 11 October 2022 (UTC)
- Merging does not make much sense because the subcategories already are a subcategory of Category:20th-century philosophy and Category:21st-century philosophy respectively. If not kept, just delete. Marcocapelle (talk) 18:53, 11 October 2022 (UTC)
- I've containerised it. Perhaps that is the best we can do. I agree that merging doesnt make much sense. Rathfelder (talk) 08:15, 12 October 2022 (UTC)

- Propose deleting Category:Surnames of Baden origin (edit | talk | history | links | watch | logs)
- Propose deleting Category:Surnames of Alsatian origin (edit | talk | history | links | watch | logs)
- Propose deleting Category:Surnames of Württemberg origin (edit | talk | history | links | watch | logs)
- Propose merging Category:Alemannic-language surnames to Category:Germanic-language surnames (added 12 October)
- Nominator's rationale: These categories all contain only one page Egloff, which does not state the origin of the name, let alone with a citation. The page is already also directly within the common parent Category:Alemannic-language surnames, which perhaps could be documented and expanded. – Fayenatic London 13:50, 11 October 2022 (UTC)
- Delete per nom and I would be inclined to support deletion of the parent too. Surnames by group of dialects is likely to run in verifiability issues. Marcocapelle (talk) 05:52, 12 October 2022 (UTC)
- OK, I have added that parent to the nomination. Its parent Category:Alemannic German language does not have a category for Alemannic-language words and phrases. – Fayenatic London 10:46, 12 October 2022 (UTC)
- Delete per WP:OR and WP:SMALLCAT. - RevelationDirect (talk) 02:34, 15 October 2022 (UTC)
